About Mark

Mark Penta is a freelance artist and a graduate of the University of Hartford Art School, where he majored in illustration.

For years he's earned a living drawing portraits, caricatures, magazine illustrations, advertisements and book covers. He has taught drawing lessons to hundreds of kids and adults, both privately and at places like RISD, Mass Bay, Dean College and other Massachusetts schools.

He's the author/illustrator of
Cape Cod Invasion!, a dream project that took him seven months to illustrate. It was such a fulfilling experience that he plans to devote future illustration time to creating more books!

Mark is a member of the
Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
